This March, we’re excited to have an opportunity to celebrate with our community! We are sponsoring the Red Cross Celebration of Heroes luncheon, which honors local public servants who have given so much to keep us safe.
A hero can be anyone. Broadly speaking, a hero is someone who gives of themself for the benefit of others. We usually don’t have to look far to find one. They’re everywhere: they’re our first responders, police officers, teachers, community leaders. They’re moms and dads, brothers and sisters, friends of many.
During this luncheon, we’re coming alongside the Red Cross to celebrate these heroes and public servants who have worked hard and unselfishly to save and improve the lives of people in our community. This annual event honors them for their use of first aid, lifesaving training and other acts of courage and sacrifice to help people who are in dire circumstances.
We believe that these local heroes are an integral, indispensable part of our community. As an organization that also cares about the needs of the community and works to provide for them, we at Bank of the James salute them for their courage and sacrifice. We hope you will join us in recognizing their accomplishments and heroism.
You can take part in this event by nominating local heroes to be specifically recognized and giving us information about who they are and what they’ve done. We look forward to seeing and hearing all of the inspiring stories that will come from this.
This year, the Red Cross Celebration of Heroes luncheon will take place on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:30 PM at the Liberty University Student Center. All proceeds from the event will go to supporting the mission of the Red Cross in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas of Central Virginia. We hope to see you there!
