Business Banker - Charlottesville, VA

Assists small business and consumer clients with bank products and services while complying with federal regulations and bank policies.  Manages client portfolio for compliance or exit strategy.  Performs analysis of prospective small business clients’ financial needs and best options, working with clients to determine optimal banking solutions.  Assists clients with loans, cash management, business bank accounts, treasury management, business credit cards, payment processing solutions, and other products and services.  Oversees maintenance of client accounts with end goal of clients’ success.  Maintains optimal customer relationships for new business acquisition. Recommends appropriate loan products and initiates approvals while working with all branches and markets to solicit business.  Attends business and community events to establish and strengthen business relationships. Works in a consumer retail capacity: opening and closing accounts, performing account maintenance; perform consumer transactions using teller system.  Travel as needed to meet with clients.  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or related field, or 5 years of proven business banking experience preferred.  Outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent listening and problem solving skills, uphold confidentiality, maintain a professional appearance, reliable, flexible, and team oriented.  Valid drivers license.  This is a full-time, in-person position located in Charlottesville, VA.

IT Support Specialist I - Lynchburg, VA

Bank of the James relies on our IT systems and infrastructure to help best serve our customers while becoming the region’s preeminent financial institution. We are seeking an entry level IT Support Specialist I who is ready to grow their skills. The ideal candidate will work as a team player who is eager to learn, quick to admit their mistakes, and ready to tackle new challenges, while thinking creatively. In this role, the successful individual will support our critical information, systems, and assets, maintain new software and hardware, and provide training, while supporting the overall IT strategy. Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred, proven IT-related work desired, IT Certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) desired, experience with or knowledge of operating systems; current equipment and technologies, active directories, network protocols, cloud systems a plus, customer service experience a plus; strong people skills required, and valid drivers license.  This is a full-time, in-person position located in Lynchburg, VA.
