Customer Alert: We value your trust in us and want you to be aware whenever we are made aware of potential scams. We’ve recently received information regarding a spoofing scam in which a third party will place calls from numbers that appear to be associated with Bank of the James. The callers will attempt to sell medic alerts and other products or devices on behalf of the bank. Please know that we will NEVER attempt to sell products like this nor do we authorize any 3rd parties to do so.

In addition, we have received information from customers indicating that they received phone calls from individuals purporting to be customer service representatives in the fraud department with Bank of the James. If you are ever suspicious of a phone call, please hang up and contact 1-877-266-0765 during business hours and 1-833-221-8665 after business hours, weekends or holidays. The employees at these numbers are able to handle your questions and/or concerns about any fraudulent transactions.

 


 

Bank of the James will never ask a customer for their user name in conjunction with their password or PIN. If you have questions or concerns about your ATM/debit card, during business hours please contact 1-877-266-0765. If after business hours, weekends or holidays, please contact 1-833-221-8665.
