Since then, we’ve grown from a new bank with 12 employees and one location to a local regional bank with multiple offices covering much of Virginia, over 150 employees, and a reputation in the communities we serve as a trusted bank and a reliable community partner.

Our office is located on Confederate Street in historic Appomattox. My wife has been trying to get me to switch from Truist since BB&T and SunTrust merged. I had been with SunTrust for years. I was reluctant at first but I'm glad I did. The staff at Bank of The James is amazing. I was able to set up my new checking and savings with ease. I enjoy it when I have to go into the branch. The decisions they make are local and not made elsewhere in another state. That is important. I prefer to keep what little money I have locally than elsewhere.
