Good day to you. My name is Rayetta M. Webb and I recently joined the mortgage team here at Bank of the James as the “Reverse Mortgage Loan Officer”. I come to Bank of the James with 15 years of mortgage experience, dedicating the last 10 years to working exclusively with the “Home Equity Conversion Mortgage” (HECM) – also known as a “reverse mortgage”. I previously worked for TowneBank Mortgage and Wells Fargo. I am a firm believer that education is the key to making a sound financial decision and that getting the facts on this type of loan program for yourself or someone you know is where you start.
Whether you are looking into the “standard” Home Equity Conversion Mortgage that allows you to “use your home to stay at home” or wanting to downsize and use the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage for “purchase” loan that combines a HECM with your purchase loan all in one transaction, I am here to provide you answers to all of your questions.
I also enjoy speaking to civic or church groups who want to learn more about this type of loan program. Just call me 434.238.0765 to schedule a time to meet with your group. I am proud to say I have served my community in many ways. I have served as a member of the Altavista Town Council from 1994 to 2010, was Past President of the Virginia Municipal League, served as a board member and Treasurer for the Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living, Inc., and was the Chairperson for the Altavista Economic Development Authority. I currently serve as a Chairperson for the Altavista Community Transit System.
My commitment to my community and to the good people of Central Virginia has always been a top priority for me. I am married to Phil Webb, and we are blessed to have four children and five beautiful grandchildren.
